Josh Bing - "Kuwait opposition leader jailed for emir insult"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-22149864 This article talks about an opposition leader in Kuwait who was jailed for "undermining the status of the Emir". Mussallam al-Barrak warned the Emir in a speech that the Emir would not be allowed to "take Kuwait into the abyss of autocracy". Kuwait has been seeing protests from people who are against their newer democratic system. They have been suffering a low voter count in elections, in addition to the demonstrations. In addition to al-Barrak's imprisonment, several other people were arrested for speaking out against the Emir on Twitter. Al-Barrak is appealing the charge because it violates Kuwait's legal procedures. This article shows some of the issues that filmmakers of the region may be facing. If they criticize someone of power, they may be arrested and charged for it.
