Earlier this month Sporcle, and online website that features lots of quizzes and trivia added Palestine as a country. In it's quiz where one must name the countries of the world, Palestine is now recognized as a country. It is the same on other quizzes as well, such as the one where you must name the flags of the world.
This is important because it shows the changing mindset of the population. More and more people are beginning to support and independent Palestinian state and the movement continues to gain traction. Moves like this acknowledge this and will only help educate and inform people of the idea of Palestine as a country. Moves like this, which may seem small, help represent the larger movement.
This coincides with the UN recently accepting a representative from Palestine. While the representative is not technically part of the UN, it is a first step forward in Palestine being internationally recognized as independent.
With moves like these Palestine comes ever closer to becoming truly independent. With sites like Sporcle taking a stand in this debate and pushing forward the idea, change may really happen. The link to the quiz is below if anyones interested in taking it.
