Looking through the different TED talk videos that are connected to the Middle East this one stood out; a comedy skit done by Maz Jobrani. Being from western society we never see a normal day in the Middle East, we see what we are fed, mainly the negative views and situations. Jobrani is able to touch on some hot button topics while twisting them in a way that it is a joke; topics that we would think would be harmful but in all reality is also joked about in the Middle East.

I believe that this video connects with the course in different ways, it shows a different viewpoint. Jobrani states that many Americans don’t think that people in the Middle East laugh. Sadly this becomes a true fact if you really think about it. Even with the videos/movies that we have seen in class so far, there has only been little, if any, comedy material; they were still based on serious topics.
